CASCALC89 COMMAND · NOT ON THE TI-89
rk23(
Solves a differential equation numerically with an adaptive Runge Kutta method and returns a matrix with the variable values in the first row and the solution values in the second.
Syntax
rk23(Expr, Var, DepVar, {Var0, VarMax}, DepVar0, VarStep[, diftol])
- Group
- Calculus
- Arguments
- Takes the derivative expression, the variable, the dependent variable, a list with start and end value, the initial value, the step size and an optional error tolerance.
- Availability
- Pro feature in Calc89
- Origin
- TI-Nspire CAS style command; the TI-89 Titanium handheld does not have it
Example
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| rk23(0.001·y·(100−y),t,y,{0,1},10,1) | [[0.0,1.0][10.0,10.9366808323]] |
Typing rk23(0.001·y·(100−y),t,y,{0,1},10,1) on the home screen and pressing ENTER returns [[0.0,1.0][10.0,10.9366808323]].
