CASTI-89 TITANIUM · CALC89
deSolve(
Solves first and second order ordinary differential equations symbolically. The general solution contains arbitrary constants such as @1; adding initial conditions with and gives a particular solution.
Syntax
deSolve(equation, var, depVar)
- Group
- Calculus
- Arguments
- Takes the differential equation written with a prime as in y', the independent variable and the dependent variable.
- Availability
- Pro feature in Calc89
- Menu path
- F3 Calc ▸ deSolve(
Example
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| deSolve(y'=x,x,y) | y=x2/2+@1 |
Typing deSolve(y'=x,x,y) on the home screen and pressing ENTER returns y=x2/2+@1.
Keystrokes on the TI-89 Titanium
F3▼×10ENTER
The same key sequence inserts deSolve( in Calc89, and the AI tutor shows it step by step on the on-screen keypad.
